"I'm not mad," he shook his head. "You never gave me a reason to be mad. I just didn't feel safe. With him on the loose, free to walk in whenever he pleased, plus everything that's been happening with Isis, I was just constantly scared. Akefia said he would take me away, somewhere my Other Self wouldn't find me, so I followed."
He scratched his head, lost in thought. "Not to mention, I figured I haven't really done anything good for the family. I always mean to do the best for us, but it seems I always manage the opposite. I went from having big plans about duels and death to sitting around the house twiddling my thumbs, just incapable to do anything when new problems arose. Felt like you were sort of... better off, without me."
